Dr. Achilleas Thoma is a Clinical Professor, Department of Surgery, an Associate Member of the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Director of the Surgical Outcomes Research Center (SOURCE) McMaster University. He is past President of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Specific research interests include: cost-effectiveness (utility) analysis, evidence-based medicine, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, quality of life measurement/research, quality of life in Dupuytren's contracture patients, economic analysis of carpal tunnel syndrome and comparative studies of arthroplasty of the carpo-metacarpal joint of the thumb.
